The Land of Gods – Bali

I did a trip to Bali with WOW in somewhere end of March 2019 along with mom and it’s been really long that I couldn’t update my blog. Mainly one of these reasons….I became too lazy after recovering from my sickness and I was too occupied with so many things going around.

Now you guys would be wondering what had happened to me and from what phase was I recovering ??? Well, this was the first time during my journey of exploring a new destination, I fell sick. Yes…I did and made my mom also sick…as they say there is a first time for everything. Out of 6 days that we were in Bali, almost 2-3 days we both had fever and somehow couldn’t enjoy during these days. It was so unfortunate.

RashmiI could capture only few pics myself as I was not well but never the less did borrow the rest from my friend and travel mate, Rashmi (in the pic above). Thanks so much for that.

Bali being Indonesia’s main tourist destination is considered as Island of Gods, with its varied landscape of hills and mountains, rugged coastlines and sandy beaches, volcanic hillsides and all providing a picturesque backdrop to its colorful, spiritual and unique culture. Land of Gods for a reason as you would find a temple in every street in Bali.

The first day we landed in Bali by afternoon and after checking in the hotel we took some rest and refreshed ourselves.  By evening we headed out to the pink party organized by our wow buddy. We got introduced to each other, had some wine and dined for some good amount of time.

Bali is also famous for its artisans who produce a vast array of handicrafts, including batik and clothing, wooden carvings, stone carvings, painted art and silverware. The next day we started our day from some shopping at the Bali Bidadari Batik.

Here you will find the genuine deals, watch the whole batik making process and then step into a wonderland of color. Prices are exceptional considering the quality, authenticity and variety. I did some shopping of cushion covers for my home over here. And to tell you something, if you want to call yourself a millionaire anytime…you can always visit Bali as one INR is equal to 207 Indonesian rupiah. So in that case around 5000 INR makes you a millionaire 🙂 .

Then by the time we finished our shopping and headed towards the Kintamani village, the dark clouds were already in place to showcase their performance and we had no choice but to continue.

By the time we reached the place where we had this panoramic view of Lake & Mount Batur, it was all covered with clouds and was still drizzling.

Then after lunch we headed towards the Kopi Luwak coffee plantations. You would have probably heard of Kopi Luwak Coffee as being the most expensive coffee in the world, €550 / $700 per kilogram. Indonesia is famous for making it and Kopi Luwak coffee plantations is one such place where the most expensive coffee is produced. Now by any chance do you guys know from where this coffee bean comes??? Well it’s Civet. Civet is a cat type creature which is naturally a meat eater. However the coffee planters train them to only eat vegetables and coffee cherries which isn’t the richest diet, the Civet then excretes the coffee bean and this is what makes Kopi Luwak coffee. Yes you are right, it’s basically half digested coffee beans in the cat’s poop!

After this we headed towards the hotel back as I was already sick by then and had made my mom also sick. The next two days me n mom stayed back in the hotel. The last day we did visit to the Tanah Lot temple. This is one of it’s kind of temple which has it’s unique offshore setting with a sunset backdrop.

So below are the pics out of which few places we just missed and will visit Bali again sometime to see these.
